The collaboration between Disney and Imangi Studios comes a new tie-in devoted to Temple Run: Oz following that, not fully successful, to “Rebel – The Brave”
The game is inspired by the eponymous film that was recently presented in cinemas.
The film, produced by the visionary director Sam Raimi, who we met up with works such as “Army of Darkness” and Spider-Man, it rewrites the popular story of “The Wizard of Oz” from the point of view of new and original.
The game’s story sees the player in the shoes illusionist Oscar Diggs, who is at the center of a tornado and is thrown into a magical world full of pitfalls, home to witches and incredible characters.
One of the elements prevalent in the last film produced by Disney, are the scenes which see the character running walk, and this aspect is also present in this game where a team of winged beings which looked demonic want to capture Oscar running with all its forces to avoid capture.
In the new tie-in manufacturers have committed to provide the consumer with a product that, in many respects, it is more refined than the previous ones, which highlights the special attention was paid to the technical structuring and graphics, especially in the scenario.
The flight starts from a forest where emerge the natural colors yellow and green, then the scenario turns and sees us through environments with stone floors or thin sections suspended in space. During the run, the scenarios change and one of the most interesting is what he sees Oscar in a hot air balloon committed to cross a busy flight path.
The landscapes we cross are always suggestive and scrolling on the screen is smooth and free of uncertainties, the sixty frames per second are stable and touch controls are very responsive even during fast alternating jumps, the lateral and the sliding.
We can protect ourselves from collisions with obstacles activating a barrier, but to do so, we first have to collect coins scattered on the tracks when the ‘indicator located in the upper left of the screen will be completely we can activate the access protection. There are other commands such as power-ups, magnets, barriers, departures rocket, etc. ..
In conclusion, we are in the presence of a tie-in that does not have significant news, and that establishes the success on the popularity of the movie just released in theaters. Aside from the graphics, the gameplay is no novelty, but it is beginning to emerge, and a certain degree of monotony for a franchise that now seems very inflated.
